A small but delicate fruit
I find it more than cute
Surprise foreign family & friends:
Red cabbage in the weekends
Makes them forget lockdown
Of this usually lovely town
It may be four thirty and we all rise
I had made soup yesterday and warm it slowly
Husband and then children, get food on the table
Fruit, bread, yoghurt are usually part of our breakfast
Always someone cracks a joke or has yesterday’s story
Breakfast must end punctually, even when there’s no adhan
Prayers, sleep a while, then daily routine is done
The season decides at what time we’ll have dinner
Whatever is served, there’s always some milk and dates
The oldest nations usually
Have a refined, healthy cuisine
Does it take centuries to fully
Reach excellence that makes us keen
Every good host
Offers the guests a good time and a toast

When people talk about bad apples,
They often refer to humans
The best harvest with most fans,
However, is August & September apples
My garden’s red beet salad at the grilled salmon
Home grown basil sprinkled upon
The pesto effort
It was a success, not an effort
Meals enriched with my crop
Result of soil, Sunbeam & rain drop
With help of the city,
Urban farming is reality

A Garden
Gardening labour
Is a break from daily grind
And, a money source

This mint chip frozen yogurt recipe from the Sprouted Kitchen Cookbook is brilliant. The recipe combines two parts Greek yogurt with one part cream to make a luscious mint-blasted treat. I shared this gem of a recipe back in 2012 and noticed a lot of you were still searching for it this summer. I thought […]

Any kind of edible, medicinal herb
Can be found in the street
Literally, just around the curb
We know too little of the life we meet

Our grandparents knew how to prepare delicious food that would keep for months, even without refrigeration! Over time, these methods have been forgotten. Today we pay exorbitant costs for food created by scientists and processed in labs. The lost superfoods that I reveal in my book can cover your nutritional needs for fat, protein, and […]

Remember the guy who made the glitter bomb packages for the porch pirates last year? His latest archenemy are the squirrels who have been stealing all his bird seed. Check out the obstacle course he made for the squirrels in the YouTube video above! Amazing!
