Temperatures of Summer
Yet first colors of Autumn
Soon to be awesome
Time as a ruthless drummer
@D
Over the river floats a thin haze
A man fishing peaceful is his gaze
Trush and robin sing somewhere in the trees
From the shore sounds a group of geese
The first elderly shoppers appear
On Saturday morning it’s not the young we hear
The young sleep off Friday night
Their night of might
Let slow down the world on Saturday morning
The sun rises sheep are bleating every morning
Sleep or a run in the park on Saturday morning
The sun rises all the same every morning
@D
Letting go is like waving goodbye
To a leaving ship
You don’t know if it’s a permanent goodbye
You do know, another dock awaits this ship

This is my reply to Linda Hill’s prompt ‘Let Go’. If you want to join in, here are the rules:
Here are the rules for SoCS, Stream of Conscious Saturday:
1. Your post must be stream of consciousness writing, meaning no editing, (typos can be fixed) and minimal planning on what you’re going to write.
2. Your post can be as long or as short as you want it to be. One sentence – one thousand words. Fact, fiction, poetry – it doesn’t matter. Just let the words carry you along until you’re ready to stop.
3. There will be a prompt every week. I will post the prompt here on my blog on Friday, along with a reminder for you to join in. The prompt will be one random thing, but it will not be a subject. For instance, I will not say “Write about dogs”; the prompt will be more like, “Make your first sentence a question,” “Begin with the word ‘The’,” or simply a single word to get your started.
4. Ping back! It’s important, so that I and other people can come and read your post! For example, in your post you can write “This post is part of SoCS:” and then copy and paste the URL found in your address bar at the top of this post into yours. Your link will show up in my comments for everyone to see. The most recent pingbacks will be found at the top. NOTE: Pingbacks only work from WordPress sites. If you’re self-hosted or are participating from another host, such as Blogger, please leave a link to your post in the comments below.
5. Read at least one other person’s blog who has linked back their post. Even better, read everyone’s! If you’re the first person to link back, you can check back later, or go to the previous week, by following my category, “Stream of Consciousness Saturday,” which you’ll find right below the “Like” button on my post.
6. Copy and paste the rules (if you’d like to) in your post. The more people who join in, the more new bloggers you’ll meet and the bigger your community will get!
7. As a suggestion, tag your post “SoCS” and/or “#SoCS” for more exposure and more views.
8. Have fun!
In your younger bredren
You see, obviously,
Your own life & history
Even more so, in your children
In the mist of time
Fourty years now, I have missed
Teacher Miss Jannie

The #past as source of reminiscence

It’s a great time to catch up
With some reminiscence
It may be good that sleep is up
Variation can be best defense
I just think about how happy I am now
White Summer clouds, country rides
Forever, no one will allow
Time & change always create divides
Hit the road, Jack
I’d love to say these words again, despite lockdown
Luckily enough, I could, thanks to my traveling job
Very soon, it’s this road, we’ll go traveling down
A town southward, bus & train have a stop
There’s family in town, we just need to knock
So much love & footsteps are here, soon memories
Many photos testify of this love, kept in stock
But the future is a forward force that frees
Cherish your past, but the future is your lifehack
So you can sincerely say: Hit the road, Jack 🚘❤

Once you’re gone,
Why leave behind property
For the sake of security?
It may become your millstone
Many obligations
Yet, I visit the place
Some hide their face
I can’t miss their assumptions
Sometimes annoyingly constant, commonplace
Why not enjoy their own life & actions
& Skip others’ interesting perfections
Others have their place
Their own happiness, achievements, obligations
Let’s value our own achievements & perfections
Be safe, be well

St Nicolas today
A modest Christmas on its way
Reminiscence; finance closure
Looking to a new year with more allure
How do we remember a fallen hero
As a person who dropped back to zero
