Lucerne – Day Two (via [e])

Reminds me of my own visits… thanks for sharing. @D

Lucerne - Day Two Day 71 16th of September We found a really great map in the hotel lobby and again, like Zurich it had a trail marked out for seeing all the main sights in Lucerne. We headed into town to get some lunch first. We have been spending way too much money here in Switzerland because everything is double the price it should be, so we went to the supermarket to make ourselves a cheap lunch. We got a couple rolls and croissants, ham and a mixed salad. $15 … Read More

Amsterdam Insights: Westerpark (Cool Globes). (via brand new day)

Great suggestion for a visit

Amsterdam Insights: Westerpark (Cool Globes). If you’re going to visit the Westerpark, be sure to stop by the “Cool Globes” exhibition, on display till September 25th. Featured are more than fifty globes, decorated by Dutch and international artists. The idea behind “Cool Globes” is to draw attention to global warming and other issues facing our planet… I liked this one, by French artist Marine Peyre, called ‘Inside Earth’… The description read, This globe is the literal translation of t … Read More

Exploring Macchu Picchu in 8 Hours or Less (via IT’S NEVER TOO LATE.)

Many thanks for sharing these amazing pics of this impressive, miraculous place on earth. @D

Exploring Macchu Picchu in 8 Hours or Less This post is long overdue. Things have been pretty rough at work lately, so I haven’t had much time to update. After staring at a computer screen for 10+ hours a day, it’s the absolute LAST thing I feel like doing when I get home. But it’s all good. Deadlines were met, tears were shed, (LITERALLY) and all is well in the world once again. I have to keep reminding myself that in spite of it all, I’m still among the lucky ones. 🙂 Macchu Picchu was … Read More

14 Days in Ireland – Day 4: Slieve Donard Overlook (again), Tea with Violet, Cushendall, Cushendun, Torr Head, and Dunluce Castle (via rebeccalatsonphotography)

Great pics, especially the lush green garden.

14 Days in Ireland - Day 4: Slieve Donard Overlook (again), Tea with Violet, Cushendall, Cushendun, Torr Head, and Dunluce Castle After my breakfast of soda bread French toast that 4th day of the photo tour, I loaded myself and my stuff into the van and we set out for one last photo op at Slieve Donard Overlook.  But first….The Secret Garden.  The previous night, as the van turned onto the road from the b&b’s driveway, we noticed off to the side an arched entrance looking into a beautifully-manicured garden we immediately dubbed The Secret Garden.  John promised to st … Read More

The Beautiful City of Bath – Part 2 (via Nick Kontou Photography)

Brings memories of my own visit to Bath

The Beautiful City of Bath - Part 2 Here are some more images from our recent visit to Bath. I work most weekends so it is always nice to get away when we can – even though I always take my camera with me! Personal shoots are a great way of keeping my photography fresh and they also give me ideas for shots that I can incorporate into my portrait and wedding shoots. Images on this blog must not be copied or downloaded without the prior permission of Kon2photography.     … Read More

Chiang Dao: Fairytale Thailand (via doc/wise)

Thailand’s beauty captured

Chiang Dao: Fairytale Thailand I’ve been dreaming of glistening rice paddies, families packed four to a motorbike, hillside villages overrun with cute children and mist covered mountain tops.  They’re the fairy tale images I had of Thailand.  And I discovered them all in Chiang Dao, a small town just an hour and half bus ride north of C … Read More

Cuzco: The Sacred Vally (Pisac, Ollantaytambo, Chinchero) (via validusinperu)

Thanks for sharing, interesting pics. @D

Cuzco: The Sacred Vally (Pisac, Ollantaytambo, Chinchero) I arrived in  Cuzco on Saturday, taking a bus from Puno that stopped at various historical sites along the way.   One in particular, Raqchi (and the temple of Wiracocha), was interesting to me as it was the first well-defined Incan site I had spent any time at.  Wiracocha was the 8th Incan King.  Just as interesting to me as the history of the ruins was the the construction.  Take a look at the pictures below…. what pops out to you? The Giant’s Causeway: Part Geology – Part Mythology (via The Unwitting Traveller)

Great pics! Thanks for sharing, @D

The Giant’s Causeway: Part Geology – Part Mythology One of the most amazing Natural Wonders of the United Kingdom, the Giant’s Causeway was declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1986. Located on the northern coast of County Antrim, near Bushmills (yes, whiskey Bushmills!) Giant’s Causeway is a must see for anyone. Being a geologist, it was only a matter of time before I would marvel at this natural volcanic landscape for myself.  It’s a bit of a “Busman’s Holiday”, but it is stuff like this tha … Read More
