It is as it is
But, also now, there’s entertainment
As modest as it is
At least some time can be well spent
It is as it is
But, also now, there’s entertainment
As modest as it is
At least some time can be well spent
A simple trip to the city center
Where otherwise crowds would enter,
Is a pleasant diversion for my persona
First time since corona
Our lives have been restricted
Won’t it be nice to get back freedom
The vaccine is depicted
As a door to normality & freedom
(I had the vaccine today.)
Fun shopping, coffee outdoors
Guests, evening entertainment
Those were the days of carefree merriment
I realise gratitude is in place, even when so much bores
A civil rights group; their numbers only few
Had demanded an end to the curfew
— And they got their way in court!
Because the state had skipped parliamentary support
Stupidity may be the virus’ breakthrough
It started in a threatening mood
Some fire, but when police dogs came
No one anymore stood
Thank God, the riot was fairly lame
A good moment for chores, creativity
It’s not for looting, destructing property
Some people must grow a pair
This is a moment for positive care
I never expected to see this day
Or should I rather say:
This evening, night ~ under curfew
Shouts, claxons, sirens, not even a few
Surprise foreign family & friends:
Red cabbage in the weekends
Makes them forget lockdown
Of this usually lovely town
We all love a hike
But, it looks like,
We will be more confined
There’s a new threat to which we’re blind
Forever hesitating,
The government considers this
Now, months of talking
A hesitant lockdown indeed it is
Holiday season is over
Yet, fav movies still appear on TV
Is it because lockdown isn’t over?
Telly is there to keep us happy
