Meticulously & peacefully, woodpecker is hammering
Alas, there’s smog on the air
Meaning, a hot day of Eastern wind we’re expecting
Fresh coffee, for a moment, diminishes my care
Meticulously & peacefully, woodpecker is hammering
Alas, there’s smog on the air
Meaning, a hot day of Eastern wind we’re expecting
Fresh coffee, for a moment, diminishes my care
To me, one of the Winter months
Deep cold with longer day lengths
Tomorrow, the birds start nesting,
So they say, in traditional saying
Coffee freshly made
Woodpecker’s hammer nearby
Darkness, now, did fade
Against knowledge, I always ask why
Yearlings are screaming
Among many: Gulls, crows, sparrows
Occasional woodpecker hammering
My ears receive many blows
@D
Rare raindrops descend
On a yellowing lawn, as
Feathered friends hunt prey
@D
Why must the screaming & fighting
Start early in the morning?
It’s my annoyment
At nature’s whimsical moment
@D
This Morning, two doves
Had flown intoΒ my son’s room
He told, with a sparkle in his eyes
@D
First time ever
Heard in my neighborhood
Bird populations aren’t forever
Parrots left; cuckoos came; not for good
@D
Summer has come
Once we hear the cuckoo
And the pheasant’s scream too
Each season its own drum
@D
There he is again:
This trusted forebode of Spring
Hammering away @}}-
@D
Blackbirds sang
Gentle temperature
Already I heard the bang
Of fireworks, to give 2015 a closure
@D
I received encouraging words
They refreshed me
As if I joined a flock of birds
Away from my tree into the free
@D
Family reunion
Jasmin scent, blackbirds singing
Our union
Has withstood time’s passing
@D
